I was compelled to start the blog Jeneral Relativity in the summer of 2013 as a way to share tips, recipes, and DIY projects and make those things easily accessible to friends anytime, anywhere! I actually started a few other blogs, each with really direct focus, and none of them had any staying power since I didn’t feel free to express whatever was inspiring me in that moment. I have so many different interests and I wanted to be able to share them all in the same place!

At present I don’t get to blog all day, everyday (though that’s the dream!). My day job is in sales, and is entirely project oriented. These projects always have a deadline, and I pride myself on utilizing my arsenal of production companies behind me to handle any task my clients might throw at me. I love accomplishing the seemingly impossible task. I’ll call in favors, beg and plead until I can make things happen for my client! I also get to do a bit of graphic design at my day job, which is when I really shine. I’ve loved graphic design as long as I can remember. I used to play with KidPix (anyone remember this?) on our family’s first Mac, back before computers were pocket sized like they are now! That started my lifelong love affair with typography, colors, layout, and all other glorious design details. I can go a whole day working on a single design project. I’ve often found myself forgetting to eat because I just want to keep working. Or should I say playing? It is so joyful for me it often feels more like play than work!

Besides design and blogging, yoga is always at the forefront of my mind. I started a yoga teacher training program in September and it has been in a word: magical. I enjoy seeing how yoga plays an important role in everyday life. It’s so much more about what you do off the mat than what you do in the studio. Some folks see it as only a physical workout, and it is SO MUCH MORE. I’m so excited that I get to bring that out into the world. I can’t wait to start teaching classes and bringing the joy of yoga to others!

If I’m not spending my time working, doing yoga, or blogging, you’ll likely find me either hanging out with my family or traveling. I caught the travel bug back in college during my study abroad program when I went to Tahiti, Tonga, New Caladonia, and Hawaii… I haven’t been able to kick the bug since! Right around the time I returned to college from my travels is when I met Corey from Fashionista Problems, and our friendship began to blossom from there. I am so excited to collaborate with her as we are kindred spirits in so many ways. It’s so lovely to be able to share my story with her readers and her story with mine. I’m also looking forward to getting to know many of you delightful readers in the process!

Don’t forget to check out Corey’s post on Jeneral Relativity! Also, every month Corey and I will be collaborating on a post, so you will get two points of view on the same topic. That means double the perspective and double the posts for you! Leave a comment below with any posts you are interested in seeing!
